Anna M. Meah
• Born in Portland, Oregon on August 8,1992 and raised in Battle Ground, Washington.
• Traveled and competed all over the northwest with equestrian drill team, Latigo N’ Lace, for 7 years and competed with Washingon National Barrel Horse Association. Also ran track very competitively for 13 years.
• Graduated from Battle Ground High School in 2010. Went on to study Animal Science, Equine option at Montana State University in Bozeman, Montana.
• Worked for veterinarian, Solomon Benneroch, which later led to a grooming job and breaking babies before beginning to exercise race horses in 2011 at Portland Meadows, Kennewick, Grants Pass, and Emerald Downs. Anna started in Quarter Horse racing before moving onto Thoroughbreds.
• Took a leap of faith to chase her dreams in December 2012; she drove to California before landing her first assistant job with Art Sherman in April 2013. There, she was able to be a major part of exercise riding, handling, and traveling with California Chrome his entire career. California Chrome was 2014 and 2016 Horse of the Year, 2014 Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes winner. He also won the 2016 Dubai World Cup. In 2016, California Chrome surpassed Curlin as the all-time leading North American horse in earnings, and retired with a total of $14,752,650. He now stands at stud in Japan.
• In September 2017, she took upon an assistant and exercise riding job for Richard Baltas where she worked with many stakes horses such as; Gas Station Sushi, Goodyearforroses, Madam Dancealot, Midnight Crossing, Queen Blossom, Gato Del Oro, Insta Erma, Tapped, A Red Tie Day, Secret Spice, Kathy’s Song, Next Shares, Lucy De, Princess Princess, Ms Bad Behavior, Miss Boom Boom, Pantsonfire, Navajo Dreamer, Okinawa, Del Mar May, Lady Prancealot, Quebec, and Rijeka.
• After all the years of experience, Anna was then encouraged by friends, family, and numerous clients to make the next step and take out her trainers license, which she did in October 2018, that's when Anna Meah Racing began.
